Participate: There are uncountable oportunities to help: If you like to help: contact us. - Enhance the Web Site
Nowadays the first thing to do is a web site ... that's more work than one may expect. Especially the translations may add some stress. German, of course, is no problem, and English possible (somehow). French is starting to be a hurdle. From then on the big void starts. That's a bit sad. The VCFe should be a truly European and World Wide event - and there's more than just D/F/GB. So, whoever is able to add another translation, or enhance exiting translations: Please contact us. You don't have to translate all pages ( at once :) - We're happy if you add only the main page in another flavour. Also the VCFe needs: - Translations (I didn't mention this before - did I ?)
- Any hint to possible errors
- More information to add to the pages (like Links or FAQ)
If you like to help: contact us.
- Preparation for VCFe
Even a #1 event like the VCFe is senseless if nobody knows about it. Advertisement is essential: - Tell your friends,
- issue handouts and post flyers and posters,
- post in local news groups and local BBSes about the VCFe and
- add links (it's unbelievable how fast they wander around :)
If you like to help: contact us. The handout/flyer is ready as a GIF file in English, French and German. Download, Printout and Distribute. To advertise the VCFe on your own website, you may use the Mini-VCFe Banner available as standard sized 120x38. Just copy it onto your server, and integrate it into your HTML Code: <A HREF="http://www.VCFe.org/"><IMG SRC="http://www.VCFe.org/GIF/VCFe-Minibanner.gif" BORDER="0" WIDTH="120" HEIGHT="38" ALT="VCFe 6.0 - Mai 1st/2nd, 2005 in Munich" /></A> You may also directly point to the file at the VCFe site (http://www.VCFe.org/GIF/VCFe-Minibanner.gif) to display always the newest version (many thanks to Vasco from Atari-Copy-Party). At non-English language sites, it may be usefull to adapt the ALT text. More advertisement banner can be found on the banner page.
- Throughout the VCFe
There's a lot to do on VCFe. Not only setup and breakdown, but also: - Sell Tickets,
- Supervise the Consignment Booth,
- Visitor Service,
- or be a Guide for Visitors.
If you like to help: contact us.
- Do your own Display
-
- Hold a Speech
-
- Is there a theme you'd like to see covered?
- You want to do your own speech? ?
- Or you know somebody able to do so? ? ?
You don't have to be a genius to hold your own session at VCFe. All you need is a story to tell. Well, and eventualy you should send us a hint what you intend.
